The majority of the students at my school come from low income households and can't afford to buy materials for their children. My third graders would benefit from headphones when taking their TELPAS and other important assessments. When using them, they are attentive to what they are listening and don't distract others. Therefore, they will be successful!! Being able to have whiteboards with number lines for each student will help me see what they know and misconceptions for our fractions unit. Kids love to use them with their markers, erase and do another problem. The Science activities will help activate prior knowledge and increase my students' learning when used in centers. They will take ownership of their learning with real-life experiences. These activities and flexible seating will help them activate their senses, strengthen their fine motor skills, increase collaboration among each other, and develop critical thinking when problem-solving as well as keeping them alert and focused.
