Our school is in the process of transitioning to an International Baccalaureate school. This program allows students to become open-minded, creative, global, responsible citizens. The IB PYP program also allows students to be more creative in their thinking, due to the inquiry-based lessons and curriculum. Students will use the binders to start a portfolio in kindergarten that will follow them all the way up to the 5th grade. Each year the student will have the chance to choose 3 or 4 projects they have done throughout the year to be displayed in their portfolio. They will choose these based on their favorite, most memorable, or project they are most proud of. When they are finished with 5th grade, the portfolio becomes a gift to their family to show them how hard their child worked throughout their career at our school.
