We live in an urban community where fresh food is not only limited but also expensive. Many of my students think chips and a soda qualifies as breakfast. This thinking and practice of poor eating habits leads to a class full of tired, cranky and hungry students by the time lunch rolls around at 1:10 pm! I am determined to make a change and so this year we are going to grow our own food! Starting in January we are planting seeds in our classroom and hoping to harvest lots of salads and some fruits and vegetables by June.

About my class
