Choice in seating helps my students focus at making their best learning decisions. For many of my students, being able to move on a wobble cushion or chair, stretch out on a bench, sit on a cushioned carpet with a stadium seat and a clipboard, or settle in to a memory foam filled beanbag chair helps free the wiggles from their bodies and allows their minds to focus on the actual learning and tasks that needs to take place. The more students make their own varied seating choices, the more learning becomes both fun, engaging, cooperative, and productive in our 6th grade classroom.
