This coming year (2020-2021) will be my first year teaching fifth grade and I will have thirty-two students. The school where I am currently teaching is located within a low socio-economic area in South San Jose and funding for our school is limited. More than eighty percent of the students qualify for free and reduced-price lunch. Many of our students are English Language Learners. The school demographics are 48% Hispanic or Latino; 47% Asian; 1% Filipino; 1% White; 1% African-American; with other ethnicities individually counting for less than 1%. Your support in providing the needs of the students in my classroom will help them achieve academic success even much more during this difficult time.
