Our school is home to one of the most diverse student populations in Central Texas - representing nearly 60 nationalities. The school is a Title 1 campus where a majority of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Many of our students come from non-English speaking families, and approximately 40% of our student population are English Language Learners. Furthermore, we also lead the district in the number of students, in high school, who receive special education services. Even though many of my students come to school with external challenges, they persevere through their commitment to learning. My classroom is dedicated to providing students with multiple opportunities to develop their problem solving and 21st-century skills. I support their educational goals through the use of technology, laboratory experiments, collaborative discussions and projects, and real-world situations, to name a few.
