Most of my students are Latino or Latino descendants. All of them speak Spanish at different levels; some understand most and speak basic and incorrect others speak only Spanish at home and understand all as well as are fluent, other students were borne in a Spanish speaking country and they can read, write well, other students came from immersion school and have a strong academic Spanish. They enjoy speaking Spanish and they want to improve their Spanish to a more competent level and to use it in a job as well as to travel to Spanish speaking countries and use it. Most of them came from a low income family want better job opportunities. They have dreams some of jobs to help their families, others of a career, and better opportunities. my students are proud of their Latino heritage and constantly show but are also eager to learn discover more that will increase their pride.
