My students have Daily 5 rotations in which one of their stations is "Read to Self". Currently, our classroom library is scant. Many students have already read the books that are at their level, and although they are eager to read, the books are just not available. It's important that my students have a variety of books to choose from. Providing students with titles that peak their interest will help some of my reluctant readers realize that reading is enjoyable. When students learn to choose the right books for their zone of proximal development their reading ability will improve immensely!
