Storyworks will make a huge difference in my students' literacy experience. I often find that students dread literacy time. Students need to enjoy what they are learning about. They learn best when they are interested in the topic they are exploring. I will use Storyworks to get my students excited about reading. The Storyworks magazine will encourage my students to enjoy and look forward to our whole group literacy time. Each magazine will build their English-language skills. Storyworks includes a wide range of genres and topics, from plays to poems to non-fiction text, Storyworks will expose my students to interesting, relevant text. They will become interested in and learn to enjoy reading. With each subscription one student will receive a copy of the magazine as well as access to aligned digital online resources each month. We will read and study the content of the magazine as a whole class. Then, each student will be able to take their magazine home with them. This is especially important in my classroom because children oftentimes do not have access to reading materials at home. Please help provide these engaging and interesting magazines for my students and allow them materials to read at home.
