Students will choose a book of their interest and take home several copies of such book to read with their families. Students and their families will then get to watch a movie that is based upon the book of their choosing. (And what's a movie without a little popcorn!) Students will then complete an assignment comparing the original book to the movie. This assignment will not only improve student's reading skills but it will encourage family engagement. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles or even siblings will be participating in their child's academic achievements! This project will last all year as they will have more than one opportunity to bring home the books and movies. With a variety of choices, students will be eager for more!
