My students read Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone in my 4th grade class and absolutely fell in love. The novel motivated them to improve their fluency, grow their vocabulary, expand their imagination and gave us some of the best writing prompts 4th grade has ever seen. While we read, they learned amazing and valuable life lessons and it catapulted their hunger for great literature. We are eager to continue the series and continue to explore the magic of reading in 5th grade! I am beyond ecstatic to be "looping" with my kiddos, meaning I will be their 5th grade teacher. As soon as they found out, the first thing they asked after celebrating was if we would continue reading Harry Potter. Your donation will give us amazing novels that we will use for our daily lessons, projects, inspiration for writing, and as a foundation for our value-driven classroom.
