A computer class special at our school has only been around for 2 years and we have been picking away at the list of what would make a great lab setting for our students. We have currently upgraded all 30 of our computers, but are working with older desks and chairs. The computer lab I teach in serves all the students in our Upper Campus, from the tiny 7 year-olds who are entering 2nd grade, to the 14 year-old 8th grade boys who play defensive tackle. The chairs in my lab are not only too large for the desks that we have, but are not conducive to the wide range of student sizes. I've seen students sitting on their knees to be able to reach the computers properly, as well as students who have to hunch over because they are too large for the chairs. Acquiring chairs that are at least adjustable height would enable students to sit more comfortably and with better ergonomics, thereby improving their computer skills. I plan to fund this projects in 2 parts: 15 chairs in the first project and the remaining 15 in the second project.
