I have been researching an application called SEESAW and would like to implement it in my classroom for the upcoming school year… and beyond! Seesaw is a student-driven, interactive, digital portfolio that showcases students’ work and can be shared with parents, families, and peers. The donations of tablets will allow my students to create digital portfolios using the Seesaw application to document their learning. Students will be able to explain their work, perhaps how they solved a challenging math problem, record themselves reading a story or weekly sight words, upload group projects and classwork, to name a few. Students are able share their portfolio with parents/guardians which will help strengthen the connection between school and home. Students are able to ‘show what they know’! Students will share the tablets with a group of peers. I have limited technology in my classroom, only 4 desktop computers, and having this additional technology will provide new opportunities for students to showcase their work, empowering them to document their own learning, as well as help teach 21st century skills. Our classroom theme is STARS, hence, I will be challenging my students to become Seesaw Stars!
