My students live in a small semi-rural town of about 12,000 people outside of Naval Base Kitsap. Approximately 55 percent of students at our school are living at or below poverty level. Most of their families consist of blue-collar workers living paycheck to paycheck. Our classrooms are full of students from a variety of backgrounds. Some students may not have access to books and technology in their homes. In our library I try to give them opportunity to checkout high interest books and allow them hands-on tech opportunities.
