The items that I selected are for students to have sensory input periodically throughout their day. Currently, students work in the traditional classroom style or room and can have increased of off -task behavior, less engagement during learning times, oppositional behavior, and also a decrease of communication. Sensory rooms are special spaces that enable students to self regulate, rebalance, and have their sensory needs met. The children will use the sensory room for improving balance, movement, spatial awareness, visual processing, fine/gross motor skills, and most importantly improve expressive and receptive communication skills that will keep them safe when out in public.
