The majority of our students are English language learners. This past year I realized that our music sessions made a huge impact in their development of English. The students' parents have confirmed this as well. I am looking to expand our music sessions to include more instruments. There is also some classroom equipment I would like to have to enhance the overall experience. I would like to the students to play along and accompany me (as I play guitar) my goal is that we will continually add instruments throughout the year to our music time. By the end of the year, I am hoping that we will have a full band. Please help me in getting instruments to meet this goal. I would like a few small electronic keyboards. A student could play one during our large group music sessions. Additionally, I could lead small group activities where each student has a keyboard. The small hand drums would come in handy for our large group music time. Many students could keep time and rhythm while we sing. The small xylophone would be excellent for this purpose as well. The large hand drum would be helpful in our large group music time as different students could take turns learning to keep time and rhythm while we sing. Additionally, I would like carpet squares for this time for any students that need extra support. The large gymnastic wedge will serve the same purpose and allow students who need extra support to relax during out music time.
