Teaching tolerance is one of my greatest goals in my classroom. The Holocaust is a great way to teach tolerance and end the cycle of hate. In January, we will begin a unit on Holocaust remembrance. During this unit, my students will be learning about how hate is contagious and can influence even the most unsuspecting citizens. Surviving Hitler is a great book to teach the Holocaust through a survivor's perspective. My students would love to read this informational text in our class before we take a class trip to the Holocaust Museum at Kennesaw State University.
