We are a classroom of 9 and 10 year olds with diverse backgrounds, interests, and learning styles. We tie-dye T-shirts in September, and display unity by wearing them on "Tie-Dye Tuesday" and on field trips. In 4th grade we learn about our beautiful state of Washington. Despite living 30 minutes away from our state capital, very few of my students have visited our state capitol building. On our donated fall field trip to the Washington State History Museum, for some it is the first time they'll see the capitol on the hill, or Mt. Rainier in the distance. I want my kids to look forward to each day knowing that school is fun, safe, loving, and educational.
