I am focused on making my classroom more student centered and one way to do that is to have a variety of seating options with wobble stools, balance balls, bean bags, and pillows/soft seats. It is hard to concentrate and work if you are uncomfortable and feel the need to move around. Something as simple as sitting on a standard chair becomes an enormous task for students that are already at a disadvantage in their education. By having flexible seating in the classroom my students will have the option to be comfortable and release a little energy throughout long sitting periods. They will be able to move in the wiggle seats while they are learning. It is very important to me that my students have various choices around the room that fit their learning style and are also able to move out in their seat to learn together.
