Through my time teaching I have learned that not all students learn in the same way. In order to effectively teach a child, one must understand how they learn best. The products I am asking for will allow my students to meet their individual needs as learners. My students will have the opportunity to explore the seating options given to them so they are able to better understand their own needs, and make choices for what works best for them personally. The rug is needed so my students can have an area to meet in the mornings and afternoons to reflect on their goals for the day and collaborative with one another to better build our classroom community. The cushions and chairs are needed so alternative seating options are available to my students. The tables will provide my students with the option to work collaboratively in a small group, while the lap desks will allow my students to choose to work independently in a quiet part of the room. Giving low- income students access to choice gives them a privilege they don't often get outside of the classroom.
