Many of our students have forms of sensory processing disorders. In order for them to navigate the world around them as well as to be comfortable enough to learn, they need sensory regulation. This can be in the form of visual and tactile stimulation to vestibular and proprioceptive stimulation. With this sensory regulation, our students are able to focus their bodies and their minds in order to better function in the world around them. The items on this list gives my students the tools they need to calm, awaken, or regulate their bodies. In turn, they are able to learn new skills rather than focus on trying to rectify the sensory storm going on within their bodies.
