Sight word readers and hands-on activities will develop and strengthen the reading skills of the students I work with. Phonics instruction tends to confuse students with special needs as they are very concrete in their learning; however, sight words never change which makes learning sight words and then learning to read with sight words a must for my students. Once my students know their sight words, they can then move on to reading. These materials will assist me in building each child's sight word knowledge and the moving them on to reading successfully which is invaluable to my students and their families!
