This project will allow students during the pandemic to take trips virtually to different places and times throughout history to learn about evolution. Students will use technology to take virtual field trips and use augmented reality to see the different biomes that exist within our plant for millions of years. Students will be able to get hands-on with scientifically accurate figures of reptiles, fish, mammals, and dinosaurs that went extinct over 60 million years ago. They can then compare them to figures of organisms that are alive today. This will help students to establish relationships between an organism’s adaptations, its environment, and how convergent and divergent evolution impacts species. The project emphasizes how all core content classes can work together to provide students with a complete picture of a concept, while also allowing students to create their own observations, write their own conclusions, and how to support their claims.
