A lot of times, students don't want to read because they can't relate or see themselves represented in books. I want to change that by providing books with characters from multiple backgrounds and cultures, and different sexualities and genders. I want to encourage them to read as much as possible and to get as much as they can from what they choose to read. Help me give them more opportunities and choice with the books I can provide to them. My hope is that by providing more interesting books, they can improve their vocabulary, comprehension and fluency while also making personal connections.
