My students are a wonderful motivated group of students who come to school everyday to learn. My students are ready and willing to push themselves day in and day out not only in their academics, but better with daily life-skills, as well as becoming better citizens within the city. We area a small group of 15 and spending as much time together as we do we feel more like a family than a classroom. My students have all been identified as living with a moderate to severe Intellectual Disability (formerly known as Cognitive Disability). My students receive all of their core content classes (English, Math, Social Studies, Science and Vocational Studies) directly from me. On top of the standard subjects, I work with the students to learn basic hygiene skills, functional skills like basic household chores, and cooking.
