My project is Review Prep for the LPN Nursing Exam, a step-by-step review of two years of nursing theory. After 610 hours of Nursing Theory over a two-year period, these high school students need a comprehensive review. The content of the NCLEX-PN Review Book contains critical thinking strategies and sample questions to help them prepare for the exam. Students will create flashcards, games, and quizzes using these review books. In addition, and most importantly, the students will have self-study materials when they are away from school. This project will pave the way with practice exams and review material to achieve successful completion of this high school LPN program. The NCLEX-PN review books will supplement what we do every day in the classroom and will provide a comprehensive review in the last several months of this program. These students have had to meet all of the academic requirements for high school graduation in addition to the 1350 hours of LPN education required by the Florida Board of Nursing for LPN programs. So the gift of these books will provide that comprehensive review and pathway to send more new nurses into a field experiencing a severe shortage.
