My students need extra support to learn the same material as their peers. Through pretend play, hands-on material and sensory strategies students can be involved in their learning in a way that is exciting and fulfilling for them. Using our imaginations and playing are important milestones for children. My students need additional time to learn concepts and thrive in an environment that allows them to explore materials and ideas freely. With the use of sensory strategies, students have a chance to express their love of learning in a safe and accepting environment. Having science/STEM kits and interactive games is essential for students who need extra support. Therapy sand and dramatic play costumes can enhance student learning. Playing is the best way for young children to learn academics, social skills and life lessons.
