These items will help with the development in many area's such as social, small motor development, large motor, learning a new language and working together with their peers at school. It will help them learn to work together towards a common goal and learn how to take turns as well. Learning to work together is the first step to a successful classroom. The carpet will give us a place to come together as a community and discuss events happening in the classroom and allow the children to express themselves in a community type setting. The kitchen set will allow them to experience real life situation such as cooking, taking care of babies as if they were their own and learning about foods around the world with cultural foods added to the area. Teaching our class sign language will be another cultural experience for them on top of just learning the alphabet they will learn to sign it as well in case they encounter a person that can't hear. The items we are trying to gain for our classroom will introduce the class to other cultures and help them socially get ready for Kindergarten.
