We are requesting gross motor materials that can be used with our students inside our classroom. Although we have an outdoor playground at our school, our time outside is often limited due to our schedule, neighborhood, and inclement weather. We do not have an indoor gross motor space that allows us to expel some of our extra energy in productive ways. Our students need to be involved in movement activities because that's how they learn best. We have been interested in learning about the ocean and fishing, and we would have so much fun fishing in our very own classroom. Yoga cards will allow us to practice moving our bodies in new ways and bring calm and relaxation when we need it. Bowling and hopscotch are wonderful ways to get us moving, counting, and having fun! Each of these materials will provide our students with a variety of hands-on learning experiences that will keep them actively engaged and interested in what we are learning.
