By starting The Coffee Corner to sell flavored coffee, the students will learn everyday life skills in socializing and managing money. The students will run the business before class every morning selling coffee. They will market the product, take orders, provide the product, practice good customer service, learn to manage money, keep inventory, reorder products when necessary, do the bookkeeping for the company, practice clean-up and safety procedures. This business will help the students become better employees. They will know what it takes to run a business, even if it is on a small scale, they will have a little bit of experience - which goes a long way. If my students were able to open The Coffee Corner to sell coffee every morning it would help each student be better prepared for the working tomorrow teenager.
