These books will help me connect with students, teach them concepts of respect and equality, and help them feel a sense of belonging and representation through seeing themselves in the books we read. My students love books and love connecting with staff through reading together. My students often don't have books at home, so having these books to share with them through distance learning will keep them connected to staff and to their love of reading. These books also teach important lessons of love, respect, equality, perseverance, and determination... lessons that can benefit all students as they strive to become better world citizens.
