My students are getting their first real taste of science this year in 5th grade. It's the year that can make or break their enthusiasm for learning about the world around them. My challenge as their teacher is to give them unforgettable experiences that will not only prepare them for 6th grade, but also for lifelong learning. In my classroom, I have a bearded dragon, a small natural aquarium, and a rock and fossil collection. All of these things I've brought from my life into the classroom for students to experience. I also have been getting experts in various fields of science to come and speak with my students about what they're learning and its real world applications. I am making every effort to catapult my students up into success and achievement. I still see room for improvement, however, which is why I've shared my class with Donor's Choose; to take my students and my efforts for them to the next level.
