As a first year teacher, I have learned so much about teaching and working with children. Although in days past, most teaching was paper and pencil, there are now a lot of opportunities in which children can learn through the use of technology. Through my first year of teaching, I have learned about a variety of ways in which to make learning engaging, fun, and educational for children through the use of technology. We have used them to play educational games that review topics we are discussing, watch educational videos, and create slideshows about research. This being said, I work at a low-income school, and would love to provide my children with the best learning experiences possible using one-to-one technology. Therefore, you must make the most of every moment, which leads me to the purpose of this donorschoose project. I am wanting to raise money so that my children can have one-to-one technology access. Although working in partners is great, sometimes it is also great to use technology as a different tool and to see the work of individual children. If children had one-to-one technology with these 9 computers, there would be less transition time taken to grab computers, as they would be stored in their desks, which would allow us to spend more time on teaching!
