My students work hard all school year. We like to celebrate their success by concluding the year with a "fun day". Fun day allows students to participate in a variety of outdoor activities and games. It is a day that students at our school look forward to all year long. The face painting and temporary tattoo station is always very popular. The students love choosing a design and sharing it with their classmates and teachers. The teachers get the opportunity to be face painters and interact with all the students. The materials and paints at this station help to make the event run smoothly as well as make it a memorable day for our kids. We will use these donated materials at our face painting station. Our students also usually wear a uniform. The face paint will let their individual style shine through as they choose what they would like painted. They may also choose a glitter tattoo that represents a sport or activity they enjoy. Often, the next day I will see students that I don't normally work with, and they will stop me and say remember me, you painted my face! They also remember it the following September. As they enter the building in the first day of the new school year, many remark, "Hey, I remember you, you painted my face." Their body relaxes as they see and remember the fun they had in school. Our school does not do fundraisers because it isn't fair to ask the parents of low income families to buy/sell goods. I would love to be able to provide this activity for our students this year. Donations to this project will help me give the students an awesome fun day.
