Teaching in an inner city school has its challenges especially when it comes to obtaining necessary supplies. The students I work with have various degrees of autism, and need sensory stimulation and adapted materials to perform academic tasks. Sensory supplies and adapted materials are very expensive and the school district does not see these items as essential.
