The tenth grade students at our high school study the Holocaust as part of the unit on WWII. The students will tour the Holocaust Center where they will be able to see displays and videos of the events that took place. They will also hear from a Holocaust survivor and learn firsthand the experiences of that time in history. Students will learn that the experiences endured during the Holocaust are not just a plot in a movie or book, but actually happened to real people. This is an invaluable experience and will help students develop empathy towards different groups of people, which is a step toward ensuring that something like this never happens again.
