When students have difficulties that may create a learning delay, a light table can be a useful tool to inspire that learner. Sometimes sensory needs overshadowed the drive to learn. Once I started looking at light tables, I knew I had found the perfect learning tool, but I also know I need to extra tools to create the best learning experience. Children are naturally drawn to the gentle glow of the light table and tend to stay there for long periods of time, which is great for stretching those short attention spans, learning while using a light take can make basic task and learning activities much more engaging and fun! The light table is a versatile tool that can be used for everything from open-ended play experiences to arts and crafts, to teaching academic concepts, and much more.
