The use of seat sacks will be very helpful in my class. As a first grade teacher, I am trying to teach my students how to be responsible citizens. I am trying to teach them how to keep up with their materials and how to have them stored in a place that they can get to anytime during the day. At this moment, my students currently have bins that I purchased from the dollar store to store their materials. However, we currently faced issues where the bins break. Seat sacks will help solved this issue. They will be use to help my students store their materials for reading and writing. Students will store their clip boards, writing journals, markers and other materials needed to become successful readers. The clip boards will be used when students are on the carpet. Students will use these clip boards to store their story of the week. Students will place their type copy of the text on their clip boards to analyze. Students will then use highlighters and other material to dig deep in the text. My students currently do this activity with out a clip board; however, clip boards will allow them to be able to work on the carpet as well and not just at their desk. Your donation to this project will improve the effectiveness of the lessons I teach during reading. Students will be able to move through the activities with me by completing them on their own papers on the carpet. Students will also be granted the opportunity to work in different areas in the classroom, not just at their tables.
