I started a lending library and the children and families love it. The children get to choose a book and take it home and when they are done, they bring it back to exchange it. The library isn't very big and the children have gone through the books multiple times. My students would love to have more developmentally appropriate learning materials in our Lending Library for their families to be a part of their learning experiences. We incorporate an activity with each book and a parent direction sheet to help parents with teaching their children. Many of our families do not have the resources available to them or the knowledge to assist their children. This is our way of helping to provide those resources and the knowledge to help their child shine.
