About my class

As a 4K teacher, I try to create a classroom where students learn through their play. Every 5 weeks we change our unit of study. When I change units I try and change out many of the choices I have for students to play with. When possible I try to create a dramatic play center that matches what we are learning about along with having many other engaging activities set up around the classroom for my students to explore and learn with. We are currently doing a clothing study so my dramatic play center is a laundry mat right now and then will turn it into a house with dress-up clothes and a kitchen. I will use the market stand to help create the storefronts to many of my dramatic play centers. I will also use the pretend kitchen items, cleaning items and so forth to put in my center. My next unit is a pet study so I will make a pet shop and a veterinarian clinic throughout that unit. Keeping my students excited and engaged is a lot of work but so worth the effort!
