I have a phenomenal class of kindergarten students, that are excited to embrace their flexible seating options! Being able to wobble on a wobble chair, sit on a sensory air cushion, use a lap board, while working on the floor, and rocking on a spoon chair, are all fun ways to engage both their minds and bodies, throughout the long school day. Students will be able to use these during math, writing, centers, and reading. I am excited and hopeful that I will be able to offer them a variety of flexible seating options to maximize their learning potential. Every student learns differently, and forcing them to sit like robots at a table all day, while it may work for some, is not always the best choice for every student. Kids need the freedom to make a self reflective choice about where to sit, in order to do their best thinking! Moving, rocking, and wobbling are part of who they are! I am excited to embrace it! Our classroom is enjoying the wonderful world of personalized learning, and flexible seating is a critical component, that I desperately want to ensure that they have at their fingertips. Please help me to provide my students with the tools they need to be successful learners and thinkers.
