Small group instruction is a great way to meet the learning needs of all my students. Whether they are just beginning to learn their letters or are ready to tackle sounding out words, a horseshoe-shaped table would provide a closer, less distracting learning environment. We need a horseshoe-shaped teaching table for small group lessons. My children love working in small groups with me and having a designated table which would allow up to six children to focus on the skills they are trying to learn would be so helpful! Some children may be matching capital and lower case letters together. Others may be using magnetic letters to make words. Still others may be pointing to words in a story and be trying to read on their own. Whatever level of support is needed, being able to sit at a "U" shaped table would allow me to help, encourage and keeping them focused on learning.
