Students will be able to read in a safe, comfortable environment and will be afforded opportunities to do so when given time in class. Students will be able to choose from several selections of reading materials that are interesting to them, which will enhance the joy that reading provides. Reading allows students to foster the ability of imagination, understand how to learn new words, and provides opportunities for exploration and questioning. When given the gift of books, students can explore new worlds and learn new concepts and understanding of how the imagination can grow and foster new ideas and experiences. Students will also be afforded the opportunity to get comfortable with a book in bean bag or bungee chairs to make reading a comfortable, enjoyable experience!
