We've noticed student improvement with behavior and concentration with the use of yoga balls and other flexible seating options in the classroom. We would like to give students more opportunities and choices to be flexible. When students are given choices, they are able to decide where they will do their "kindergarten best" and ultimately student performance and engagement will increase. Even as adults, we struggle to sit through meetings sitting on hard chairs--why not let students wiggle while they work? The variety of seating options will allow our kindergartners to use what makes them feel comfortable which will provide the students with the confidence they need in order to take risks and be successful.
