These materials will make a huge difference in the way that students feel about reading. Having these engaging books that are interesting and modern will help them relate to the world that they live in. Most of these students do not have access to books at home and live with parents who can't read because of language barriers. For these students to have access to an assortment of books to read in a small group reading club will make a difference on their fluency, comprehension, and their love for reading. Research says that if a student doesn't learn to read by 3rd grade, they probably never will. I believe that in order for students to learn to read they need to find a book that they find engaging and interesting. This will make a huge impact on whether they become avid readers. It will ultimately change their educational success and impact their future!
