I have been teaching for 10 years and have always found sitting in a desk all day to be extremely difficult for young students. I try as much as possible to give them the chance to be out of their seats. Since many of my students struggle to attend to tasks and stay focused while sitting in the hard chair they have been provided with, I decided to transition to flexible seating. While the students are already showing improvements, the seating options are limited to chairs and the floor. These materials will provide my students with seating options that will allow them to move while they learn, which in turn will help them be more engaged. Students will be able to choose from different types of learning spots in the room that will foster their learning style and help them focus and achieve both behaviorally and academically in the classroom.
