Students in my classroom have several opportunities to move. However, they should be able to move while they work! Flexible seating options will allow students to figure out what works best for them. We need air seats, wobble chairs, balance discs, bouncy bands and more for flexible seating within the classroom to help them focus and learn! Moving while you work increases focus and attention for students of all ages but especially 5 and 6 years olds! They will be able to stand, sit, bounce, wiggle, and wobble while they are working. Having different options for students will ensure that all students are able to learn in the way that works best for them. Working with my students to understand their bodies and understand what they need as learners is important. Flexible seating options is the first step!
