Our charter school is 85% Latino and there are many English language learners. It has been very difficult to find good novels that my students can relate to and connect with. "The House on Mango Street" will motivate my students to read and will serve as a good example for my students. Many of my students are two to three grade levels behind in reading and having dictionaries will really help them understand the vocabulary and what they are reading. Our students try so hard and really want to learn but they need the tools that will help them succeed.
