My students are amazingly creative, independent thinkers and learners. We are very fortunate to have a year long ceramics course where students learn all aspects of working with clay. They wedge clay; create hand built projects from coils, pinch pots and slabs; and even throw on the potter's wheel. We bisque fire our pieces in the kiln, then we use underglaze or glaze (and fire them again in the kiln) to add color and shine to create finished works like you see in the photo. I am asking for thirty-three pints of underglaze/glaze in various colors. They love to see their visions become a reality, and for that to happen they need choice and variety. This selection of glaze will give them an abundance of choices to create with. Ceramics class is a break in the academic day. It is a way for them to connect with their creativity and have agency in demonstrating their learning.
