I teach second graders whose families don't have strong academic backgrounds. They have a strong work ethic and a strong belief in the importance of education but lack formal schooling. My goal is to not only help them develop a solid foundation in math and reading but to also offer them a multitude of opportunities to explore their worlds both in their community and globally. Field trips, STEM materials, and arts and crafts supplies would allow me to expand their horizons, so that they may engage more in life around them.

About my class
